Gong Xi Fa Cai! Happy New Year! Bonne année! Shanah Tovah! Join us on Lunar New Year for a family-friendly exploration of the connections between traditions, time, tools, and water around the world.

  • Create your own rotating calendar to explore the differences — and similarities — between calendars used across the seas.
  • Cleanse your spirit and usher in good luck with water-based New Year’s traditions from around the world.
  • Try your hand at calligraphy with Robert Hsu
  • Explore the Nile Alive! Did you know our modern calendar has historic ties to the Nile River’s annual floods?
  • Bring in the Year of the Rat and help us celebrate Chinese New Year!

The celebration and other activities are included with regular Museum admission. Museum Members receive free admission but a registration for Lunar New Year is appreciated in advance. Please check your emails or contact our Membership Department at 215-413-8626 or to receive the special promotional code for advanced tickets

(Notice that strange end time? It's a 125-minute event to correlate with Cruiser Olympia's 125th commissioning anniversary - more information on that here!)
