Olympia Engine Room: Behind-the-Scenes and Technology Tour

Explore the inner workings of the oldest surviving steel warship still afloat! This tour includes and in-depth look at the engine and boiler rooms including a demonstration of working machinery and technical discussions of communications and propulsion technologies.

The Fleisher Sketching Class

Join The Fleisher for a unique opportunity to sketch costumed pirates on the fantail of Olympia. Sketching demonstrations and individual guidance will help you capture these dynamic maritime actors as they pose. Your registration includes Festival admission for the full day. The Seaport Museum welcomes you to stay after the workshop to draw the boats and ships that will be here for the Festival including a fleet of small craft boats, several tall ships, and Antique and Classic wooden boats. Bringing a sketchbook you can hold is recommended. Drawing materials are limited to pen, pencil, watercolors or charcoal. Specific details such as location, your Festival wristbands, directions and other details will come via email. Register today


Living History Crew

Olympia's Living History Crew will present accurate and interesting historical interpretation aboard Cruiser Olympia.

Tall Ship Deck Tours

During Festival hours, visitors can go aboard the Tall Ships for deck tours and enjoy talking with the ship's crew, as well as see how they live and work aboard. Please check the Festival program for scheduled river tours.



Oyster Sail on AJ Meerwald

October 11, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Passengers aboard the AJ Meerwald River Tour will enjoy the unique opportunity to eat fresh, local oysters provided by the Oyster House while hearing about the history of the Delaware Valley's oyster industry. BYOB welcome.

Shanty Sails on the Mystic Whaler

October 13, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Join Geoff Kaufman and the crew of the Mystic Whaler for shanty sails on the river. Sing along with ancient ballads and songs of the sea.

Rowboat Races
