Tattoo Kingpin Troy Timpel Presents the 3rd Annual Warship Olympia Tattoo Festival
at Independence Seaport Museum onboard Olympia May 10 - 12, 2013. Admission is $20 per day or $40 for a weekend pass (includes Museum admission). Tattoos are an additional cost and prices vary by artist. Tickets will be available at the door. The convention hours are Friday 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Tattoo Arts Convention is organized by Troy Timpel, producer of the Philadelphia Tattoo Convention held in February every year at the Convention Center. Predominantly spotlighting traditional American tattoo techniques, this event will feature an array of artists applying vintage acetate stencils dating from as far back as the 1940s -- truly period-correct, old school tattoos applied in the same assembly-line manner as they would have been in the golden age of American tattooing. This lost art is rarely practiced today and should prove to be a momentous occasion for any true tattoo enthusiast.
The Historic Ships will be closed to the general public during this event. Museum visitoris can purchase a $5 reduced admission to visit the Museum exhibits only.
