Foundation and Government Relations Manager

Independence Seaport Museum seeks an experienced professional Foundation and Government Relations Manager to join its small but dynamic Development team. Previous experience writing grants for an arts organization is strongly preferred; superior writing skills and the ability to craft a clear, concise and persuasive argument are essential. 

 

Corporate Communications Intern

Independence Seaport Museum seeks an energetic Corporate Communications Intern for Spring 2015. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Development, this position is part-time and unpaid (college credit available).

Responsibilities:

  • Researching and identifying corporate donors to support development initiatives through sponsorships, contributions and grants.
  • Establishing, cultivating, and maintaining personal contact and relationships with corporate program officers.
  • Writing, assembling, and submitting corporate funding requests, including letters of intent, solicitation letters, proposals, budgets, acknowledgements.

Qualifications:

Junior or Senior-level student majoring in Business, Marketing, Public Relations or related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and research skills.
Excellent organizational skills and high attention-to-detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, while meeting all deadlines.
Entrepreneurial and creative approach to fundraising.
Prior experience working in a non-profit organization highly desirable.
